Islamabad Universities Postpone Exams and Shift Online as Security Tightens Ahead of US-Iran Talks

Several universities in Islamabad and Rawalpindi have postponed examinations and transitioned to online classes as the twin cities prepare for the upcoming round of US-Iran negotiations.

International Islamic University Islamabad announced that all classes will be conducted online from April 20 to April 24 to minimize on-campus activity during the anticipated talks. The university also postponed midterm examinations scheduled for April 20 and 21.

In addition, the administration introduced a temporary hybrid work model for non-teaching staff, implementing a four-day workweek from Monday to Thursday and allowing 50% of employees to work remotely. This arrangement will remain in place until April 30.

Similarly, Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University has shifted all academic activities online until April 26 and ordered the closure of its main campus for one week as a precautionary measure.

Rawalpindi Medical University has also postponed all examinations for Allied Health Sciences students, stating that revised dates will be announced later.
